World Day of Prayer in pictures
Pineapples, orchids and colourful lanterns set the scene for a vibrant World Day of Prayer at St Andrew’s Church on Friday, celebrating the nation of Taiwan.
Maggie Littler, Wilma Proudlock and Margaret Casey arrive for the World Day of Prayer.
Father Tony Swannson led a spirited service and the congregation turned out in bright colours for the occasion.
World Day of Prayer is celebrated annually in more than 170 countries on the first Friday in March.
Each year the service is written by women in a different country who share the hopes and fears, joys and sorrows, opportunities and needs, of their country.
