Women's Shed keeping busy

The projects are multiplying as word gets out about the busy Pittsworth crew known as The Women’s Shed.

Pittsworth Women’s Shed has presented handmade ‘trauma bears’ to the local branch of the Queensland Ambulance Service to help comfort children on their way to hospital.

It is one of several projects the local not-for-profit organisation has been busy at of late.

And members have been attracting some great feedback along the way, including from organisations they’ve supplied with handmade everything from Santa sacks to items designed to make life easier for those in aged care.

This small industrious group of women intent on giving back to their community was formed  earlier this year.

They  meet and get busy stitching, knitting, crocheting, quilting and sewing,   from 9am to 3pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the old soft drink factory at 1 Yandilla Street.

New members are welcome to call in and donations of yarn and fabric are gratefully accepted.
