Westbrook has its say

With the Federal Election on the horizon, Westbrook was the battleground last Thursday night as arguably the four strongest candidates for the Division of Groom met with locals to discuss important issues.

Sitting member Garth Hamilton from the Liberal National Party, Labor’s Gen Allpass and independents Suzie Holt and Kirstie Smolenski attended the Meet the Candidates event.

Despite the miserable weather, quite a few locals ventured to Westbrook Hall to hear what the candidates had to say and have their questions answered.

The event was organsied by Westbrook local Matt Norton, who said it was important to have the candidates come out to a place like Westbrook, that is so often forgotten.

Mr Norton was involved with the Westbrook Focus Group before it folded and belongs to Westbrook Lions Club and moderates the ‘Westbrook Locals’ Facebook group.
