Weather looks promising for Foundation Farm Field Days

If the forecasters are right, it would appear that the 2025 Foundation Farm Field Days near Allora next week will be blessed with fine weather.

The field days, organised by Pacific Seeds, will run from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th February on the company’s Foundation Farm, which is a few minutes’ drive south of Allora off the Warwick back road.

The farm was established in 2021 as a farming innovation hub aimed at driving new systems, practical research and approaches for farm efficiency, sustainability and ultimately profit for the agricultural industry.

On Tuesday the focus will be on Grain Sorghum and will feature a grower panel discussion as well as field walks and equipment demonstrations.

There will be field walks through trial crops to finish the morning session.

The afternoon session will include an update on Grain Sorghum research with further field walks and a farm bus tour.

On Wednesday attention turns to Maize.

During the morning the programme will include updates on Maize hybrids along with field walks, equipment demonstrations and planter trials field walks.

After lunch, Pacific Seeds will provide updates on its research into the development of Maize and there will be further field walks and a bus tour.

Thursday’s programme will focus on silage under the banner “Quality Silage = Quality Feed”.

The morning session will begin with updates on summer forage followed by a panel discussion on the silage industry.

As with the other two days there will be field walks and equipment demonstrations.

The afternoon session will start with research updates then there will be further field walks and demonstrations.

Each of the days will conclude with networking drinks.

Because the number of participants has to be limited, it will be necessary to register for the event.

Registrations will close this Monday 10th February.
