Water security for Vale View
The days of high level water restrictions should be over soon for Vale View residents as their water is connected to the Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply.
Toowoomba Regional Council Strategic Water Planning and Capital Delivery portfolio spokesperson Cr Rebecca Vonhoff said the $1.5 million Vale View Pipeline connection program is an investment as Council continues to plan and deliver critical water infrastructure to support the future needs of townships across our region.
“Approximately 100 households in Vale View are being connected to the Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply to enhance their water security,” Cr Vonhoff said.
“The Vale View community has been on High Level water restrictions since June 2019 and has had water trucked in during the higher demand periods.
“Once this critical work is undertaken the residents in Vale View will receive the same level of service that all other residents connected to the Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply Scheme receive.”
Cr Vonhoff said work commenced on August 19, 2024 with the pipeline expected to be complete by the end of October, weather dependent.
“Commissioning works will continue until the end of the year,” she said.
The project is partially funded by the Queensland Government under the Unite and Recover Community Stimulus Package.
The new trunk pipeline works commenced at Drayton Connection Road and Smiths Creek Road.
Also moving from bore water supply to Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply will be residents of Cambooya, Greenmount, Nobby and Clifton.
The Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline is expected to be completed in March 2027 and will provide a permanent water supply to 3,400 residents across the four towns.
It will also provide drought contingency supply to residents of the Southern Downs towns Warwick, Allora and Yangan.
