Vintage Ballgowns glimpse into past
The Dulcie Mason Vintage Ballgown collection was displayed in the Pilton Soldiers Memorial Hall on Saturday 10th December.
: A few of the vintage ballgowns on display.
There are nearly seventy gowns in the collection and over 80 visitors had the pleasure of seeing the great variety of designs and materials along with the accessories of gloves, clutch bags and hats.
They also enjoyed morning tea, lunch or afternoon supplied by the
committee.
Dulcie Mason lived on the Darling Downs during the 1950s.
She loved to dance and visited local halls, where she wore a different dress every time.
The collection is stored at the Australian Cultural Library, Rosewood.
These dresses are telling of a very important social moment in Australia’s history.
