Honouring Vietnam Veteran’s Day
Earlier this month the Oakey community gathered to pay its respects to the Australians who fought, were injured and lost their lives during the Vietnam War.

The service was hosted by the Oakey RSL, with personnel from the Oakey army base attending as well as Vietnam Veterans, ex-servicemen, current personnel, friends and families of those who fought and local residents.
There was a minute’s silence accompanied by the bugle, along with the reading of The Ode.
Representatives of local groups took turns laying their wreaths at the memorial, which was opened and closed by a march formation performed by personnel from Oakey’s Swartz Barracks Base.
Lest we forget.
