Two grants to boost Clifton tennis
Clifton and District Tennis Association has received two grants from the Federal Government to a total of over $9,000.

The Association will receive $4,253 under the 2021 Volunteer Grants program and $5,000 under the Powering Communities Program.
The Volunteer Grants funding can go towards purchasing equipment, training, and background screening checks and the Powering Communities funding will be spent on the installation of solar panels and LED lights in the clubhouse.
Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said as the local member, he has seen the impact of volunteering in Maranoa and how the hard work of local volunteers continues to strengthen the community.
“I know how integral volunteers are to so many Australian organisations, with more than 8.7 million volunteers across the country giving their time freely to support their communities,” Mr Littleproud said.
Speaking about the Powering Communities grant, Mr Littleproud said energy bills are often one of the biggest overheads for not-for-profit organisations.
“Whether it be a sports club, a community kinder-garten or a community radio station, by helping to reduce power bills, the grants will ease the financial pressure these organisations face, so they can better focus on meeting the needs of their local communities,” he said.
Thousands of community organisations sought grants of between $5,000 and $12,000 to help lower their energy bills by installing solar panels or a battery; upgrading air conditioners, hot water systems or refrigerators with more efficient models; replacing lighting with LEDs; or conducting an energy audit.
The 2021 Volunteer Grants provide organisations with grants of $1,000 to $5,000 to help purchase equipment, training, and background screening checks for their volunteers.
Clifton Co-Op Hospital will receive a $1,000 Volunteer Grant as well.
