Treasure Island to celebrate 25th anniversary
Treasure Island Child Care Centre in Clifton has plans underway for its 25th Anniversary on 16th November, while also being overjoyed at recently receiving a $34,000 grant to upgrade a fence at the centre.
Serving the needs of the Clifton Community for child day care for 25 years is a great accomplishment and testament to the excellent service provided at the centre and the support of sponsors.
Emma Bermingham, Director of Treasure Island, said Saturday, the 16th of November will see an open day at the facility to celebrate the anniversary when past students and families are invited to join in a barbecue, with face painting and balloons for children, organised to create a party atmosphere.
She said a special anniversary cake is on order and a local politician has been invited to attend in what should be a great day of celebration.
Ms Bermingham said Treasure Island is also delighted to have recently been successful with an application for a grant from Round 121 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), of $34,105 and it will be used to improve a wall around the kindy outdoor space.
This attractive safety feature is another of the many improvements the centre has undergone over the last 25 years.
Treasure Island was the sole Clifton group or organisation out of 598 in Queensland to receive funding from this round.
Further afield, Cambooya Public Hall will receive over $90,000 for a wide range of upgrades to its facilities, Emu Creek State School P&C will receive $67,740 to install playground equipment and Cambooya Landcare will receive $6,206.75 to construct a community garden.
Community groups that missed out are encouraged to apply for Round 122 of the GCBF, which will be the final funding round in 2024.
Round 122 will offer $35,000 grants and is already open.
