Tornado spotted near Pittsworth
As wild weather batters our region, it has been confirmed that a tornado briefly touched down near Pittsworth earlier this morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology is issuing ongoing warnings for the Darling Downs as storms will continue across the region into the afternoon.
At approximately 10:40am the twister was spotted between Pittsworth and Mt Tyson and the cell that produced it is now moving south east.
Pittsworth Police said they have not yet received any reports of injuries or damage.
Authorities are urging residents to remain safe as a severe thunderstorm warning for destructive winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall remains in place and storms are predicted to continue into tomorrow.
