Three deaths on our region’s roads in just two weeks
Police are urging drivers to take care and be patient when behind the wheel following two fatal crashes that occurred on our region's roads over the last two weeks, claiming the lives of three people.
The first crash, which claimed the life of an 18-years-old Maryborough man, occurred on June 28th on the Gore Highway at Broxburn.
The second crash, which occurred in Mount Irving on July 8th, saw a 29-years-old Gympie woman and her 12-years-old daughter pass away after sustaining significant injuries.
Both crashes were between a truck and a car.
Queensland Police Acting Inspector Kim Hill said these fatal crashes are a timely reminder to drive with caution on our regions roads.
“Whether we’re driving a car around pedestrians, motorcycles or cyclists, or whether we’re driving around heavy vehicles, we need to take the utmost care and be patient,” she said.
RACQ’s Lauren Richie is also reminding drivers to take extra care on the roads in school zones and be mindful of children now that school holidays are over and students have returned to school.
