The story of Mary brought to life
A display is currently open to the public at the Pittsworth Uniting Church on “The Life and Times of Mary”.
The exhibition is the vision and creation of Janice Reed, whose talents had been witnessed before in her display ‘The Story of Easter’ in March this year.
The static display is open until December 21, 9am-1pm, and 7pm-9pm (excluding Sundays).
It is completely handmade and crafted from styrofoam, in what had become a labour of love for Mrs Reed.
The display follows the journey of the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus, from the angel Gabriel’s visit to announce her pregnancy through to Mary kneeling at the foot of the cross after Jesus’ crucifixion.
Although it was supposed to be exhibited in October, Mrs Reed said The Life and Times of Mary was better displayed in December without competing with the Craft and Fine Food Spectacular.
If you’re planning to do a night time drive
of Pittsworth’s Christmas lights, it would be worthwhile calling in to the Uniting Church in Briggs Street to see The Life and Times of Mary.
