The event will again feature some of the great legends of the track, and spectators will be champing at the bit to get that beloved smell of burning rubber for the first time since 2019.

President Tricia Chant said there will be some new names at this year’s event.

“In 2019 we welcomed great drivers including Dick Johnson, Colin Bond, Fred Gibson, Bruce Garland, Kevin Bartlett, John French and Bob Holden and they were enormously popular with our spectators who remembered their achievements in the sixties, seventies and eighties,” Mrs Chant said.

Mrs Chant said the committee is currently in the middle of developing a COVIDSafe plan for the event which should put the organisers in good stead to keep everyone following the guidelines.

“We’re pretty comfortable that we will be ably to easily manage the plan and things will run smoothly.”

“All of us are just so keen get into it” Mrs Chant said.

The event will run over the weekend of August 21 and 22.
