The Great Malvern Star Mystery
The story starts in February 2024. In the Allora Advertiser on 14 February the headline read: Police Report: Disappearance of Bicycle A ladies green-coloured, retro-style Malvern Star brand bicycle disappeared from Warwick Street Allora.
The much loved bicycle belonged to Mrs Kate Gordon.
Around the time that Mrs Gordon had been in hospital, her much loved Malvern Star bike had been stolen from the carport that is attached to the front of the house.
Second Chapter of the story - April 2025
A couple of young mates Jonte and Jake were playing around Dalrymple Creek near the 8th hole when they spotted handle-bars sticking out of the water.
Upon investigation they discovered a wangled bike, so naturally, they took it home.
Allison May thought “this bike looks familiar” - then remembered seeing it in the Allora Advertiser.
They reported their find to the Allora Police Station where officers identified the bike as the one stolen.
Third Chapter of the story
The Gerni was out and there was a big clean-up of the bike, but it still looked the worse for wear.
Then off to present it to Mrs Gordon - who was happy to see it - but told the boys they could keep the bike.
However it doesn’t look rideable - but it’s a good story.
