Street Fiesta returns

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has endorsed a $25,000 funding application to help stage the second International Street Fiesta in Toowoomba’s Queens Park on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Last week, retiring Mayor Paul Antonio said he saw great merit in continuing primary support for the festival, which is organised under the banner of the Toowoomba International Multicultural Society (TIMS) and its various sponsors and supporters.

“The Fiesta continues to showcase our Region’s rich cultural composition,” Mayor Antonio said.

TRC Environment and Community Services committee chair Cr James O’Shea said the Fiesta added great value to the Region’s events calendar.

“The event is our signature multicultural festival,” Cr O’Shea said.
