Spotlight on the Peters Family: Joining Philo for “Grant Us Peace”
The Toowoomba Philharmonic Society will feature the Peters family from Norwin in its upcoming performances of “Grant Us Peace” at St. Luke’s Anglican Church next month.
The Peters family has been making the weekly journey to Toowoomba to participate in the orchestra’s rehearsals, showcasing their dedication to the musical arts.
Lance Peters, brings the deep, resonant tones of the double bass to the ensemble.
His children, Ben on the cello, and Ella and Lucy on violins, follow in his musical footsteps, enriching the orchestra with their talent.
The family’s commitment to the Toowoomba Philharmonic Society is evident, having previously performed together in the 2022 rendition of Handel’s “Messiah”.
“Grant Us Peace” is set to be a remarkable concert, scheduled for the 13th and 14th of July at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Toowoomba.
Both performances will commence at 2pm, promising an afternoon of serene and uplifting music.
This concert aims to bring a message of harmony and tranquility, much needed in today’s world.
In addition to the Peters family, the concert will showcase a host of talented local musicians.
Andrew Doecke will captivate with his organ performance, while Sharon Matheson will enchant with the harp.
Vocal solos will be delivered by acclaimed sopranos Cassie Midgley and Calista Walters, alongside the inimitable Robert
D. Williams, adding a rich vocal texture to the event.
