Southbrook's rising tennis star
Southbrook Central Primary School has a rising tennis star in its midst.

Frankie Pile recently played in the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival in Darwin and was seeded number one in the Queensland team.
The trip to Darwin was her first time on a plane and first time in Darwin which she said was a hot place to place in winter.
Frankie competed in three doubles and four singles games and a highlight of the event was meeting tennis legend Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
Frankie has been playing tennis in the Regional Junior Development Series for two years and qualified for the national event at a tournament in Roma.
Being seeded number one she was up against the top players from each other state in Darwin but she managed some victories and the Queensland team finished third overall in the tournament’s Ash Barty Cup.
One of the biggest highlights of the trip, Frankie said, was getting to meet Australian former world No. 1 tennis player, Evonne Goolagong who was one of the world’s leading players in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Frankie, with proud Gamilaraay culture in her family, also plays touch football in Toowoomba and enjoys cross country but is intent on pursuing tennis into the future.
