Showgirls busy across district
Oakey Show Society and Goombungee-Haden Show Society Showgirls have been raising money across the district.
Goombungee’s Jacinta Langston, who is a nurse at McLean Care CWA House in her working life, thanked those who had supported her.
“I would like to thank everyone so far who has contributed to my fundraising for the show society and congratulations to the winners so far for the money squares I have been doing,” she said.
“I will be organising a multi-draw raffle in the new year and have been talking to local community businesses for wonderful prizes.
“I hope to see you all in the New Year for a wonderful show season and a proper introduction to my life.”
Meanwhile Oakey Mini Showgirl Nala Kennedy (aged 8) and Oakey Junior Showgirl Melainey Morrison (aged 10) donated to the cause “It’s in The Bag” with the help of Oakey Family Dental, who were made aware of the cause by Oakey Func Fitness.
The charity aims to support vulnerable women and girls who are in need with donations of bags which contain essential goods in adult, teen and mum and bub categories.
