Mrs Conway had been a resident of Clifton for more than two decades during which time she had been involved in a number of local organisations.

She had sustained injuries in a car crash several weeks ago and had been undergoing treatment as a result.

She passed away in Toowoomba Hospital on Tuesday afternoon last week (15th August).

Organisations in which she had served included Clifton Lions Club, Clifton Show Society, the Clifton Dabblers group, Clifton and District Progress Association, the Clifton Jockey Club, Clifton and District Chamber of Commerce and more recently, the Allora Day for Girls group.

Mrs Conway had held executive positions in many of those organisations.

In each case, she had been an enthusiastic worker and was more often
than not, an active promoter of each organisation‘s activities.

Mrs Conway‘s and her husband Mike‘s work in the local community was formally recognised at the Clifton Australia Day celebrations in 2022, when they were jointly named Citizens of the Year.

At the awards presentation, Cynthia and Mike were described as “kind and generous volunteers who are integral in fostering community spirit and who can be called on for help during times of need“.

A private cremation will be held while a memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
