TRC Water & Wastewater Committee Chair Councillor Rebecca Vonhoff said the work includes an upgrade to the existing sewerage pump station on Creek Street and replacing around 1.2 kilometres of the existing pipeline which transfers wastewater to the Wyreema Pump Station.

“This upgrade will allow Council to convert the network in the future from a common effluent drainage (CED) scheme to a conventional sewerage scheme,” Cr Vonhoff said.

“Works on the pipeline commenced at the end of May and
are being carried out progressively along sections of the network.

“Approximately one kilometre of the pipeline has been installed (up to Hodgson Creek) and preparation works for construction across Hodgson Creek began at the end of June.”

Cr Vonhoff said pipeline construction is expected to be completed by the end of July and the upgrades at the pump station will be finished by the end of October this year, weather permitting.
