SES getting into the region
Residents in rural towns and districts across the Toowoomba Region can expect to hear more about local State Emergency Services (SES) in the future.
Local Controller for the SES in the Region, Julian Rees is planning to spend more time in rural areas raising awareness of the organisation and its work in the community.
Mr Rees and SES member Jack Spies were at Clifton for the Street Markets during Country Week exhibiting and explaining some of the equipment used by the SES.
Mr Rees said most of the local work undertaken by the SES unit at Clifton revolves around storm damage, but local members do go further to assist in events such as flood recovery work along the Condamine River and its catchment.
As with most community focussed organisations, the SES is always ready to welcome new members.
