School athletes excel at State Championships
Clifton and surrounds can be proud of a group of young athletic ambassadors who gained selection in the Darling Downs representative Cross Country team at the Queensland Championships at St. Paul’s School, Bald Hills in Brisbane in mid-July.

Local athletes to don the Darling Downs colours, their school and results included:
Joseph Ramsey – St. Frances de Sales School, Clifton – 10 years boys Multi Class - 2nd place.
Graham Hopper – Clifton State High School – Boys open - 47th place.
Johnathan Hopper – Clifton State High School – 13 years boys Multi Class - 29th place.
Lucy Gordon – Back Plains State School – 10 years girls - 34th place. Lucy also placed third in the
girls Darling Downs relay team.
Tayson Giles – Clifton State High School – 15 years boys Multi Class - 2nd place. Tayson also placed first in the Darling Downs Multi Class relay team.
Rykar Browne – Clifton State High School – 12 years boys Multi Class - 2nd place.
