Santa Fair is back
Well over a thousand people attended the return of Santa Fair to Oakey at the Rugby League Grounds on Saturday.

Oakey Bears played host to the occasion and the football fields were packed with families and friends who were making an evening out.
Santa was the major attraction and people lined up in their hundreds to grab a photo with the man in the big red coat.
Kids enjoyed a magic show, carnival rides, and treats galore from the food vendors.
The event was attended by several Councillors and Mayor Geoff McDonald who was called upon to officially light the Christmas tree.
Both of Oakey’s dance schools, Oakey Academy of Dance and iDance Academy performed outstandingly and the Oakey Voices capped off the event with carols.
Andrew Langton, President of Oakey Chamber of Commerce, thanked the event sponsors for making the evening possible.
For the price of a gold coin donation, Oakey families were once again able to enjoy a fun Christmas night in their own town.
Kids enjoyed the rides, face painting, magic show and entertainment for free thanks to the Oakey Chamber of Commerce and local performing groups.
The inclusion of the third Eat Street event meant that family and friends were never going to leave hungry.
Santa arrived at 6.30pm and was generous with his time, although his eyebrows and glasses may have looked familiar to some.
Chamber of Commerce President Andrew Langton was quick to thank event sponsors, most notably platinum sponsor New Acland Coal along with Mayor Geoff McDonald and hosts the Oakey Bears.
