Transport and Main Roads Southern Queens-land Regional Director Bill Lansbury said the speed limit on Warwick Street was reviewed following concerns raised by the community to Southern Downs Regional Council.

“We’ve listened to the community and taken their concerns to the Speed Management Committee for review,” Mr Lansbury said.

“The Speed Management Committee includes rep-resentatives from the Queensland Police Service, Southern Downs Regional Council and Transport and Main Roads.

“The speed limit review process considers a range of factors such as road condition, road function, roadside environment, road construction standards, pre-vailing traffic speeds and crash history.

As a result of the review, the speed limit will be reduced on a section of Warwick Street, Allora from 60km/h to 50km/h between Raff Street and Forde Street.

“I urge all motorists to observe the new speed limit once the signs are installed and always drive to the conditions.”
