Rosalie district shows off
Crowds flocked to the Goombungee Showgrounds for the 108th Goombungee-Haden Show to show off the best of the Rosalie district.
People came from near and far to Goombungee to have a day out with family and friends.
The day started off early at 8am, with stud beef judging and poultry, caged bird, dog, boer goat and prime cattle judging.
Schools, including Kingaroy State High, Oakey High, Pittsworth High, Quinalow State, and Downlands College and Centenary Heights State High participated in these events.
The annual chainsaw events also got underway early with two state titles up for grabs.
Although the Goombungee Showgirl had been announced two months prior, the Miss Junior Showgirl and Show Princess contestants were out early for judging.
Commercial Pig and Prime Lamb Judging commenced at around 9am.
iDance Studio from Oakey went up the hill to put on a performance for the crowds at 10.30am.
Regional Mayor Paul Antonio arrived at the Show shortly after for the official opening, which was conducted by Lyle Voll, Show Patron and this year’s Rosalie Citizen of the Year.
The Tiny Tots presented themselves at the Main Stage for at midday.
The highlights of the afternoon were undoubtedly the lawnmower and pig races, with the fashion models also getting the chance to strut their stuff.
The day was capped off with a monster truck demonstration, along with the grand finals of the pig and mower races.
A spectacular fireworks display marked the end of the Show.
