Rodeo a buckin’ good time

The rodeo was in town on Friday (4th November) and a huge crowd joined in the fun.

Clifton Show Society secretary Adele Saville said it was a good night, with well over a thousand people passing through the gates.

She said a rodeo has not been held in Clifton since 2018 and with the Clifton Show cancelled this year, it seemed appropriate to host a rodeo in 2022.

“A lot of people have been asking for a rodeo in Clifton,” Mrs Saville said.

She said she had heard people were happy with the event, believing it to be well-run and very entertaining.

The attendance figure was likely boosted by  the Goombungee Rodeo being cancelled, it having been scheduled to be held the following night.

As well as the many locals who showed up and supported a Clifton event, Mrs Saville said there was a significant contingent of visitors who like to travel to every rodeo around.

The Clifton Show Society also held a team penning event over the weekend.

The Clifton Show will be held 17 to 19 February.
