Work began recently on Cambooya Connection Road near the junction with the New England Highway.

Over the coming months, works will also be undertaken at Ascot, Budgee, Greenmount and Nobby.

A TMR spokesperson said the Department is undertaking works on these roads to repair damage caused by several significant rainfall events between November 2021 and May 2022.

“Immediately following these events, urgent repairs were completed to get the road back to a safe and trafficable condition,” the spokesperson said.

“Following the completion of detailed planning, TMR is now undertaking restoration works, with assistance to be provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

“Works have commenced on Cambooya Connection Road and will continue west from the New England Highway intersection.

“Works will then move to various locations on Greenmount–Hirstvale Road, from early October 2023.

“Following this, works will be carried out on Nobby Connection Road throughout October 2023, and Greenmount Connection Road in November 2023.

“Works include repairs to the road surfaces plus removal of silt and debris.

“Completion of the works is expected in late November 2023, weather and construction conditions permitting.”

Newman Road at Wyreema and Vale View is currently closed to traffic as Toowoomba Regional Council works to replace a flood-damaged culvert.
