Raizer Patient Lift Chair put to good use
A recent purchase by the Oakey Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) for our local Paramedics proved its value less than a week after it was delivered.

When Paramedics Glenn Preston and Richard Taylor arrived to assist a patient on Tuesday, they found the patient on the floor unable to stand.
Prior to the delivery of the Lift Chair, the Paramedics would have been required to either seek assistance to lift the patient onto the stretcher or risk injury doing it themselves.
With access to the Raizer Chair, the patient was able to be safely and comfortably raised from the floor.
Local Ambulance Committee President, Geoff Kapernick said the new equipment minimises risk to paramedics.
“The Raizer Lift Chair was able to be purchased through funds raised from within the Oakey Community and has quickly demonstrated its value in delivering safe patient care, while ensuring our local Paramedics are not risking their health through unsafe lift practices,” he said.
Officer in Charge at the Oakey Ambulance Centre Jacqui Fitzgerald said the chair assists in providing more comfort to the patient.
“The Raizer Chair and a Mangar Camel inflatable mattress will enable Oakey Paramedics to provide the best possible care to patients within our community,” she said.
“Our Committee is always looking for new members,” Mr Kapernick said.
