Rainy day tour pure joy for garden lovers
Rain drops were falling on our heads as we set out on our Garden Club Bus trip to Pechey, Crows Nest, Anduramba and Ravensbourne.

A little rain did not dampen the spirits of these happy travellers and what a fun trip it was.
Our first stop for a mouth watering morning tea was at Shirley Cronk’s Pechey garden.
It is a huge garden, managed beautifully by this very active senior.
On to Crows Nest to Mark and Kellie Gersekowski’s smaller garden with its riot of lovely flowers in bloom.
A picture to behold.
Our next stop was the Crows Nest Showgrounds where we marvelled at the rural paintings on the pavilion, and lo and behold there on a huge area was Shirley Cronk mixing a cake. What a great honour for her.
After a photo of our team, we travelled on to Blue Haze, Chrystal Stark’s garden at Anduramba for lunch.
The beautiful view was unfortunately obscured by fog, but lunch was good, Chrystal’s talk was enlightening, and the garden had everything you could wish for.
On the trek back home, we visited Emaho Trees at Ravensbourne where we were welcomed by Barbara and James McGeoch.
We sat on the deck and had afternoon tea while enjoying the beautiful shrubs, trees and the perfectly manicured hedges offsetting the amazing scenery around us.
After all this, it was time to head happily home, a little like drowned rats, after a good day with like minded people.
Our meeting this month on November 22 will be at Wayne and Keron Richter’s garden, 14 Fairway Drive, Pittsworth, at 9.30am.
Please bring a plate, a cup, a hat and a chair.
Michelle, our guest speaker will tell us about earth huggers pots and liners.
If wet, we will have our meeting at Club Pittsworth.
Payment for our Christmas Party may be made at this meeting if possible.
I hope everyone is on the job creating the best Christmas outfit ever viewed by man or woman.
Don’t forget our Christmas party looming, December 6, at the Bowls Club from 9.30am.
Raffle winners Ann Garland, Lorna Porter, Ros Weier, Cheryle Milne, Gail Gundry.
Please supply raffles.
The flower competition for our next meeting will be: Roses, any colour, any type.
See you all on the 22nd.
