Quinalow loses in heartbreaker
Quinalow Cricket Club has fallen just short of back-to-back titles, losing to Waratahs by two runs in the Grand Final at the Dalby Cricket Ground on Saturday (March 15).

It looked like it might be Quinalow’s day after the first innings where Waratahs collapsed from 3 for 75 to be dismissed for just 100.
Waldock was the pick of the bowlers taking four wickets for the loss of just 11 runs from his eight overs.
Bartkowski was similarly economical conceding just seven runs from six overs and taking two wickets.
After conceding 14 runs off his first over, Syd Weedon recovered to finish with 2 for 35 from his eight overs.
Quinalow’s chase started in the worst possible way when 2023/24 Dalby Cricket Association Player of the Year Bryce Riethmuller was bowled off the first ball of the innings by opening bowler Keyte, who took 3 for 26.
A partnership of 43 between Craig Maynard and Waldock saw victory within reach with just 17 runs needed and six wickets in hand but Waratahs’ bowlers Seebaran and Kingston sparked a dramatic collapse to seal a thrilling win.
