Queens of Song features an iconic catalogue of smash hits from some of the world’s most loved yet sadly departed performers.

Connecting to songs with deep and personal meaning, the production relives epic stories, bringing to life each legendary diva, from Olivia Newton-John and Mama Cass to Peter Allen and a synonymous Queen in Freddie Mercury.

Performed by accomplished musicians, Meg Kiddle on vocals and Melissa Buchholz on piano and tracks, the duo take audiences back to the 60s through 90s, performing a curated song list from stars of the stage.

Meg and Mel are accomplished artists in their own right, and together, they are a powerhouse.

Queens of Song is supported by a multimedia display of archival footage, enriching the visual storytelling.

Audiences will love nostalgic stories about their favourite artists, some surprising trivia from their lives and the popular songs they made famous, that will have them tapping toes and humming along.

Joining leading musicians Meg and Mel are guest performers that vary in each venue.

The community also has the opportunity to be a part of the show by attending a vocal workshop prior to each performance.

Anyone who loves to sing is welcome to come along for a fun session of vocal warm-ups and technical tips, before learning parts to perform as backup singers alongside Meg and Mel on stage.

In partnership with Curious Arts Inc., Queens of Song is on the road to six small halls, Yarraman, Crow’s Nest, Cambooya, Clifton, Pittsworth and Oakey, thanks to the support of Toowoomba Regional Council.

The Clifton show takes place at F. E. Logan Hall on Thursday, 29 August at 7pm, the Oakey Show at Oakey Cultural Centre on Friday, 30 August at 7pm and the Pittsworth show at Pittsworth Town Hall on Saturday, 7 September at 7pm.

Tickets are available through TryBooking or at the door.
