Goondir Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Corporation for Health Services is responsible for the proposed development.

In recent plans submitted to the Toowoomba Regional Council, it states the Corporation is applying for a Development Permit for a Material Change of Use for Health Care Premises and Community Use.

The current building on the site will be redeveloped into a medical and community centre.

According to submitted report, the health centre aims to provide critical health care services to the Oakey community, while the Community Use area will serve as the local headquarters of the organisation’s nutrition and food distribution program as part of providing social services to the Oakey and district community.

The redevelopment will result in the employment of two health practitioners and two staff members.

Fifteen on-site car parking spaces will be constructed along with a dedicated loading zone.
