Families rugged up and got their spots early while others arrived later andenjoyed the entertainment into the night.

Pittsworth Show Society vice president Amanda Rhiel was delighted with how the day went.

“I’ve got no words actually,” she said, then adding, “the atmosphere of the spectators” was a high point.

“It was a really great family-oriented day, very well run and the competitors made you feel like you were a part of their family,” she said.

“The campers too... they were thankful to be allowed to camp here and they cleaned up after themselves.“

Amanda made special mention of Brian and Tara Lovett from Taroom who had lent their know-how to help make the event the success it was.

“Brian’s had a lot to do with rodeos and had never been to Pittsworth before but he said the presentation of the grounds and the arena was one of the best he’d seen.”

“I’d love to have another one if that’s the committee consensus,” Amanda said.

While the excitement of the finals and the bronc riders at night brought big thrills, the crowds also cheered heartily for the younger riders who entered the arena throughout the day, from the tiniest tots on Shetlands to the courageous young mini bull riders and barrel racers.
