Pittsworth’s rose strikes gold
Pittsworth’s Ruby King has come back from Tasmania as an Australian boxing champion.
Ruby King had her hand raised.
‘The Rose of Pittsworth’ Ruby King travelled to Tasmania with the Queensland team recently where she came up against a local Tasmanian girl in the final.
Ruby came away with a unanimous decision in a dominant performance which saw her crowned the national female champion (35kg).
In only her third fight and at the age of 12, she is the youngest female Australian champion ever from Pittsworth.
After her fight, Ruby put the performance down to her trainers Gary Ruhle and Brad Smith and the countless hours that Gary puts into training at the gym with her.
