This Saturday 3rd July Pittsworth will play host to the longest running Junior Rugby League Carnival in Queensland, Under 12 Zone 4 Carnival.

We usually welcome teams from Charleville, Ipswich, Jandowae, Roma and previously Gold Coast.

Unfortunately, this year the QRL has not granted permission for the Gold Coast team to play.

While this is disappointing in true Zone 4 Spirit, we’ve banded together and created a Barbarian team.

Traditionally the Carnival is played over a six day period with a rest in the middle to give the players and their families time to explore the region they’re visiting.

But due to drought, floods and COVID, this year the games are played over four days with no rest day.

The Carnival kicks off on Saturday with opening ceremony taking place at approximately 1.30pm with the honourable Pat Weir officiating proceedings, with game Saturday games from 2pm to 4pm.

Sunday from 9am to 4pm is a good opportunity to come and watch some great footy being played as the kids get to play two games each.

Monday from 9am to 11am includes relays and ball games.

Tuesday 9am to 11am there are presentations and farewells.

The last time Pittsworth won this carnival was back in 1978.

It would be great to see as many spectators as possible supporting these kids playing the game
that they’ve grown to love.
