Pittsworth support for Toowoomba sheep show
Pittsworth proved to be a strong supporter of the Sheep Section at this year’s Toowoomba Royal Show.

The Toowoomba Royal Show was Queensland’s Australian Stud Sheep Breeders Association (ASSBA) centenary celebration show with special show ribbons and medallions.
A major show in each state has been selected to mark the 100 year celebration and the Toowoomba Royal Show was the first cab off the rank.
Pittsworth White Suffolk breeder Andrew Herron is the treasurer of the Association as well as being the RASQ Committeeman in Charge of the Sheep and Goats Section at Toowoomba.
Mr Herron is the longest serving current member of the ASSBA Board, having joined in 2009.
Apart from representing the Association at shows around Australia, he also undertakes judging duties from, time to time.
Andrew and his father, Maurice Herron, established their White Suffolk Stud, called ‘Pride of the Downs”, in 2005.
Another well-known personality formerly from the Pittsworth district at the Toowoomba Show was Robert Mansbridge, who was a producer at Kincora.
At this year’s Toowoomba Show, Mr Mansbridge was the judge for the Junior Judging competition.
Even the Pittsworth Show Society stepped up to help out at Toowoomba.
As well as sponsoring the Pittsworth Ambassador and Showgirl entrants, the Society provided many of the pens for the sheep and goat section.
John Milton and Anne Hall from Milton Park Suffolk and White Suffolk Stud based at Hendon,
won Supreme Exhibit of British Breed Sheep with the Suffolk Ewe/Lamb (pictured).
This win could see the Ewe/Lamb compete at the Ekka for Champion of Champions.
Mr Milton described the Toowoomba win as “extra special”, given the significance of this year’s Stud Sheep Show in Toowoomba.
