The Regional Youth of the Year contest was hosted by the Clifton Lions Club on Saturday at the Clifton Senior Citizens’ Centre.

There, three Regional finalists went head-to-head to try and win the Regional title.

Emma Collins, Highfields State Secondary College captain Emelia Wingrove, and Wilsonton State High School captain Sewar Hassanki were the finalists who faced a panel of three judges.

Sewar Hassanki was named as the Regional Public Speaking winner and PSHS Year 12 student Emma, who is from Millmerran and works outside school hours at the Millmerran Newsagency, was judged as the winner.

The three judges had a difficult time coming to a decision with each of the entrants maintaining a high standard throughout the day.

Emma Collins will now go on to represent the Region at the District 201 Q3 Finals to be held at Ipswich on March 26th.
