Pittsworth Show prevails!
Last week while the community awaited the arrival of Cyclone Alfred, the Pittsworth Show proceeded not quite as planned but with a limited program. Families enjoyed the animal nursery and sideshow alley, while the pavilion displayed a selection of exhibits that highlighted the hard work and creative efforts of community members. Just as they say in the theatre, “the show must go on” - and it did!

Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and this year’s Pittsworth Show was up against the looming presence of Alfred, the first tropical cyclone to hit Brisbane and the south-east in 50 years.
Precaution was a priority, and to avoid any potential risks, the tough decision was made by the Show Society to modify the program to exclude all livestock sections and most of the night-time entertainments.
“We were pleased to be able to present a 2025 Pittsworth Show even if it was in a reduced format,” Paul Fuhlbohm, President of the Show Society said.
“The pavilion was well supported, and we were pleased with the local support from people coming down to have a look.”
Melville’s Pioneer Farm entertained families on both days with its animal nursery and duck races.
On Saturday, the Cambooya Rockers kept spirits high with live music at the bar, which was operated by the Pittsworth Danes.
Around 7pm, Sparky’s fireworks lit up the night sky, rounding out the end of the Show for another year.
“Thank you to the Show Office volunteers who did an amazing job shuffling sideways, backwards and forwards to put on what we could, when we could,” Mr Fuhlbohm said.
