Pittsworth Show 2023 - what a show it was
A few much needed rain showers for the district failed to dampen spirits at the Pittsworth Show.
Highlights included record entries in the field crop competition with 20 fields inspected for wheat entries, 35 Dryland Sorghum entries, 10 Irrigated Sorghum, 7 Dryland Cotton 7 and 12 Irrigated Cotton.
Toowoomba Grammar School had a class at the Young Paraders and Judges at the show.
“We believe its really important to offer the boys opportunities outside the classroom and the experience of the livestock and the cattle is a great way to learn hands-on skills and all about the rural industries,” teacher Jack Murphy said.
He said it was a day the students looked forward to.
“Pittsworth is one of our favourite shows, it’s the first one of the year and we enjoy it.”
The class heads to Toowoomba Royal next, at the end of the month, and then to Goondiwindi at the end of April.
