The first clinic was held earlier this moneth and was a huge success, with approximately 80 children receiving their first dose of vaccine.

Children aged five to eleven became eligible to receive the jab on 10 January and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is urging parents to get their kids vaccinated.

“The Omicron variant is spreading rapidly in our community but particularly among our young people,” the Premier said.

“If your child is aged five to eleven, I encourage you to get them vaccinated as soon as possible.”

Pittsworth Platinum Medical Centre will be holding another Pfizer clinic for children tomorrow and said they will hold more clinics if there is demand for it and as vaccine supplies become available.

To book your child in to receive the vaccine at the clinic phone 4599 9200.

New patients are able to book.

The Pittsworth Medical Centre on Yandilla Street will also be vaccinating
five to 11 years old children, but when that can commence will depend on government vaccine supplies.

Those who are interested in attending those clinics should call the Medical Centre on 4693 1900.
