This carnival was intended to foster, promote, and extend female participation across the Darling Downs and in the ‘greatest game of all’.

It was a fantastic pre-season event for the girls to prepare for their upcoming season by providing the opportunity to develop their skills and unite as a team.

It also allowed them to develop friendships with other girls who love the game.

It was a great day of rugby league with all girls who participated enjoying the day.

The day was very competitive, with all the teams having shown their skills.

St George came away with the best team spirit, while Pittsworth and Caloundra played out the grand final.

Caloundra was crowned our first ever winners of the Pittsworth 10s.

Caloundra also took home the player of the carnival.

What a great way to kick off the season.

We would like to congratulate all girls who played in the carnival and made our event such a success.

We hope to see you all back next year as we look to build this carnival and make 2023 ever bigger and better than 2022.

PITTSWORTH TEAM COACH NOTES

At the Pittsworth Danes U15 Girls Carnival the day got off to a bit of a tough start for our girls, going down to the very strong and well drilled Highfields team.

The Danes kept working hard for each other throughout the carnival.

They eventually came up against Highfields again in the semi-final to come away with a very entertaining, hard fought win to put them in the grand final.

Our  girls  played  their hearts out for each other but couldn’t quite get the win over the really fit and fast Caloundra Sharks.

Proud is an understatement of how we feel about our girls and the effort they put in on the day for each other!

Well done girls, you have done yourselves, your club and your community proud... yeah the GIRLS, run hard tackle hard.

See you all at training Tuesday.

If you would like to play for the Mighty Danes come see us at training on Tuesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and on Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

We are still chasing players for our girls competition in the U17 and U15 age groups.
