Pink fundraiser for Blush Cancer Care
Dressed to the nines in pink, a crowd of women gathered on Sunday at Rusty’s Bar and Grill in Pittsworth to support and promote awareness for Blush Cancer Care.

Over 140 people attended the event on Sunday and approximately $9,500 was raised for Blush Cancer Care.
“It was very successful,” organiser Dee Hillberg said.
“We saw the opportunity to hold a fundraiser in Pittsworth, which was really worthwhile.”
An entire table at Rusty’s was dedicated to raffle prizes that had been donated by Pittsworth shops and the community.
Ms Hillberg said that after this year’s success, it might become a yearly event.
Blush Cancer Care is a not-for-profit organisation which provides education and support services that positively impacts the wellbeing of breast cancer patients in Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley, by supporting breast cancer patients from their diagnosis to their treatment, and beyond.
Blush backs new and innovative projects to support breast cancer patients and their families by:
Providing every newly diagnosed patient with a care package.
iPads loaded with educational resources for use in hospital, and during chemotherapy visits.
Patient appointment diaries, a vital tool for both patients and medical practitioners with the support of St. Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital.
The next Blush event is a Ladies in Pink Day on March 27 at the West Toowoomba Bowls Club.
There will be raffles, prizes and nibbles.
