PINK Day at netball courts

Saturday (23rd July) saw a sea of pink at Nell E Robinson complex as TNA held its annual PINK Day fundraiser in aid of Breast Cancer awareness, raising $1300.

Sunday was a bit groundhog-ish for some as TNA added an extra day to compensate for the three rounds lost at the start of the season due to weather, resulting in some teams playing the team from the previous week again.  Nevertheless, the conditions were wonderful.

10C Cubs: The team played extremely well against Phoenix and Dominoes. All girls have improved in attacking and defending. Every player did an excellent job of intercepting the ball and getting tips all the way through the game. It was excellent and I cannot wait to see what you do next week.

10B Bobcats: Over the two days, with goal posts at full height the girls did an amazing job at shooting and defending the ball even intercepting passes. Keep up the good work.

Cadet Tigers had a hard-fought contest on Sunday against St Ursula’s. With the bare 7 players on the court the team played well. Catherine, Tamsyn and Charlotte led the way, encouraging others to move forward for the ball. Ella Lewis and Hayley played well on the wings tipping the ball. Renee played an excellent game in keeper. Ella Farrington assisted Charlotte in goals, they were edging the score back in the last quarter with our possible first win in sight before Charlotte succumbed to injury. We went down by 5 goals but it was an excellent performance from all players.

Cadets Lions

Pittsworth Lions went down to a very fast Dalby team   on the weekend, but they certainly did not disgrace themselves with the Wildcats fighting spirit. Jess and Ella and Macey had a great  defence game that rattled the Dalby side. Macey and Ellie and Ava had a great shooting game with some excellent shots. Centre field Erykah and Emily, Ava and Tia played hard with some good turnarounds.  The Lions supported a great cause on Saturday acting as the Breast Cancer Fairies for the annual Pink day. Our amazing umpire who does a great job won the best dressed for the umpire. Thanks to all family and friends that come every week and support the girls.

12A Leopards: A hard game against the 2nd team on the ladder, Downlands. The score was close all game and the girls finally came home to win by three  goals.  Ella Farrington had a strong game, shot well, and took
out the Player of the Day for the team.  Olivia Webster played strongly in centre court and was given the GYG award. Amelia Stevens played in all areas of the
court and was a valuable player. Makayla Ahearn worked hard in defence. Harper Dever was very strong at GK and got her hands on the ball on many occasions. Milla Fitzpatrick ran strongly all game. Aleisha Stevens used her skills to provide opportunities for
the team to score. A
hard game but it keeps the team on the top of the l
adder.
