Pat's new ideas for Club Hotel

A well stocked bottle shop, two happy hours and a new pool table are just a few of the exciting changes the new lessee, Pat Rider has introduced for patrons at the Club Hotel in Clifton.

Pat loves to have a chat about sport but probably not about the Broncos at the moment.
Pat loves to have a chat about sport but probably not about the Broncos at the moment.

Pat is no stranger to running a successful hotel with 48 years experience in  hotels from Darwin, Cairns, Perth and everywhere in between.

On taking over the Club Hotel he quickly realised a well stocked bottle shop was well overdue for the town.

The hotel now boasts an easily accessed bottle shop where Pat has stocked a wide variety of wines, spirits, beers  and mixers.

Aware of tight economic times, he has predominately stocked wine in the  cheaper range with the more expensive Oyster Bay range also available.

With a new pool table arriving next week the hotel is certainly seeing some changes that patrons will appreciate.

A good hotel is a place to socialise and a darts competition on Tuesdays, Mahjong on Fridays plus Footy Tipping and a giant Meals on Wheels Raffle provide plenty of opportunities for interaction.

Pat loves his sport and is always keen for a chat over a beer about the NRL and AFL.

Unfortunately for Pat he is a Broncos supporter so is a bit disheartened about their recent form.

In the AFL he supports the Fremantle Dockers due to his time managing hotels in Perth.

Baseball is another passion and in his younger days Pat  played at a high level.

Another innovation he has introduced is a happy hour between 10 and 11am and 4 to 5pm and several patrons are already taking advantage of the discounted drinks.

After suffering some degree of stagnation over the last few years the Club Hotel  now has a new lease of life from a lessee who is keen to cater to the needs of patrons.

Since taking over, Pat temporarily closed the restaurant, however he hopes to have it back up and running again in time for the warmer weather.

Pat Rider’s experience in the hotel industry over many years has given him an understanding of what people want from their publican and he has many other ideas for the future.

In ten weeks he has already set in place more changes than the hotel experienced over many years.

Welcome to Clifton Pat.
