Pacific Seeds Agents & Industry event
It was a big night on Thursday last week when Pacific Seeds hosted what may well have been its biggest Agents and Industry Christmas Party and Awards.
The annual event is organised by Pacific Seeds Territory Manger for the Central and Southern Downs, Bill Smith, a popular figure in the region’s grains industry.
Guests were welcomed by Pacific Seeds Managing Director Andrew Short, who gave a rundown on the company’s activities for the year and prospects for the coming season.
Mr Short said research and development work by the company would be highlighted during a three-day event at the Pacific Seeds Foundation Farm, near Allora, in February.
The award for Farmer of the Year this year went to Mundalee Grains, owned by Jason and Colleen Mundt at Yandilla, near Pittsworth.
Winners from our local area included the Raff Group, which has branches at Clifton, Pittsworth and Millmerran, with Clifton manager Reg Abbott accepting the Field Service Award on behalf of the firm.
Pursehouse Rural was presented with the Grower Focus Award and it was collected by Clifton branch manager Chris Kunde and Steph Gillam from Allora.
Felton Produce won an Achiever Award, which was collected by Patrick Jones and Michelle Crouch.
