Over 2000 people descended on the Showgrounds for a night out as the Oakey Rodeo returned for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Rodeo made a wildly successful return earlier this month as half the town turned out to watch the NRA affiliated event.
After gates opened at 3pm, the rodeo began at 6pm, featuring competitions including Bull Ride, Saddle Ride, Bareback Ride, Barrel Race,Under 18 Jnr Bull Ride, Under 18 Jnr Barrel Race, Novice Bull Ride, Novice Barrell Race, Poddy Ride 7 - Under 12.
The event took place under twilight and evening conditions, with a full moon providing a stunning backdrop for spectators.
Scores of attendees crammed into the limited seating to get a glimpse of the rodeo action.
A bar and food vendors from Dalby, and St Monica’s School, among other operated throughout the night.
Entertainment was provided by young country artist Riley Young from Dalby.
