Oakey Remembers
Oakey held its Remembrance Day Service on Saturday 11th November at the War Memorial.

It was a poignant occasion given the conflicts currently ongoing in Ukraine and in Gaza.
Garth Hamilton, Federal Member for Groom and Pat Weir State Member for Condamine attended the service along with Cr Bill Cahill from Toowoomba Regional Council.
Mark Carter, Secretary of the Oakey R.S.L. was M.C. for the service.
Local legend Father Kerry Costigan RAN (Ret’d) delivered a prayer on behalf of those in attendance.
Oakey R.S.L President Chris Markham read The Ode.
Oakey State High School student Lilly Eather, a relative of recited the poem “In Flanders Fields”.
Fellowship was held following the service in the Oakey R.S.L sub-rooms.
