Nobby State School busy with Book Week, Father's Day

Over the past few weeks the students, staff and families of Nobby State School have celebrated Book Week and taken part in a special Father's Day Belts & BBQ event.

For Book Week, a stand out costume was Lucy Potts dressed as Fancy Nancy (left) and making belts for Father's Day (right).

Book Week

Our Book Week Parade was held on Wednesday 30th August and was very well attended.

Our special guests, Mrs Margaret Ferguson and Mr Warren Venz, had the difficult task of judging the different year levels.

All children (and parents) must be commended on their imaginative costumes.

Congratulations to the winners in each year level: Prep - Lucy, Year 1 - Jacob, Year 2 - Ivy, Year 3 - Mia R, Year 4 - Jack B, Year 5 - Joseph and Year 6 - Mitchell.

Father’s Day Belts & BBQ Event

What a fantastic turnout with more than 30 dads, pops, pas, granddads and even uncles attending the Belts & BBQ Father’s Day Event at Nobby State School on Saturday, 2nd September.

Special mention to Tom Smith and his handy volunteers for helping the children make a belt for their special person ready for Father’s Day!

And to the band of mums who cooked up snags on bread and the most delicious looking steak burgers.
