Nobby in full bloom for Carnival of Flowers

Amanda and Peter Roberts are first time entrants in the Toowoomba Carnival Of Flowers garden competition with their entry in the Footpath Garden section.

Peter and Amanda chose their colours carefully and the end result is a beautiful collage of flowers.

The one-time Toowoomba residents now call Nobby home having purchased the historic Brodie General Store building opposite Rudd’s Pub in 2015.

The building was known as the Pepperina Galley for many years when used for art displays.

Amanda openly admits Peter is the green thumb in the family which includes their three sons who help out with watering when called upon.

Peter has established a range of beautiful flowers along their footpaths including daisies, pansies and petunias.

Much thought has obviously gone into the planting as the colours of the various flowers seem to complement one another.

The theme for the Carnival this year is “Create a Buzz” and the Roberts have designed a novel feature display linked to the theme.

The Nobby Craft shop has also entered the competition and Amanda and Peter attend both gardens.

The Roberts also plan to enter the Clifton Country Week garden competition held in October.

Both gardens help make the Nobby township more attractive and interesting and the constant stream of visitors to the town openly admires the footpath gardens.

Well done Amanda, Peter and family.
