News From Clifton Benchrest Shooters
The new management committee of the Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club Inc. Other office bearers voted in at the Club’s AGM this month were Range Operator Bob Watson, Shotgun Captain Darren Lucas and Pistol Captain Mitchell Nothdurft.
Range Officers are essential to the running of the Club and we could not function without them. The Club sincerely thanks each and every Range Officer who donates his/her time so cheerfully for the benefit of all members. Don Doro of Warwick was all smiles at the Club’s monthly competition shoot taking out 1st in the Men’s Open Rimfire with a total of 583.17, and winning Best Card of the Day for RBA class with a score of 239.3/250.25.
Scoring 576.11, Gary Manteit of Cabarlah was 2nd in the Men’s Open Rimfire, and also won Best Card of the Day for Hunter Class with a score 199.3/200.20.
Chris Brown of Clifton got into the action as well, taking out 3rd in the Men’s Open Rimfire with a total of 571.13, and his Best Card of the Day was for the Rabbit & Crow Class with a score of 148.6/150.15.
The Women’s Open Rimfire was won by Ashleigh Brown of Clifton with a score of 564.9, 2nd was Helen Manteit of Cabarlah with 558.10 and 3rd was Marg Sullivan of Allora with 527.3.
Luke Steffen of Greenmount took out the Senior Factory Rimfire Class with a score of 549.11 while his daughter Amelia Steffen did the same in the Junior Factory Rimfire Class scoring 494.4.
Next rifle competition day is Sunday 21 November; in the meantime rifle practice is on every Sunday of the month, other than the third Sunday which is reserved for competition. Pistol participation is on the second Saturday of the month and a Shotgun shoot is also held on the second Sunday of the month.
